I.N. Taylor: I have been drawing since childhood. After receiving a teaching degree in History from Houghton College I followed an eclectic path of art education. This included studying art history at Rutgers University, taking several studio courses at the De Cordova Museum School of Art, and continuing studies under Paul Ingbretson at The Ingbretson Studio of Drawing and Painting. I primarily draw, paint in oil, and work with pastels or watercolor. Unless commissioned otherwise, I choose my medium based on how I visualize the final picture. The figure remains my favorite subject. My awards include Best of Show at the Crown Plaza Art Competition, 2003, Best of Show at the Spring, Texas, 2002 SpringFest Wine, Art & Music Festival, and Artist of the Year at the Coppini Academy of Fine Arts in 2003. My work has been selected into several national competitions. I am a member and teacher at the Coppini Academy of Fine Arts in San Antonio, a member of the Oil Painters of America and the Texas Pastel Society. I continue to participate in shows and accept commissions.
